Church Conference
The EKD Church Conference is formed of representatives of the governing boards of the member churches. In it, member churches with more than two million members have two votes, while the other member churches have one. In the Church Conference and its work, the regional churches jointly assume direct responsibility for the EKD and influence its activities.
The role of the Church Conference is to discuss the EKD's and its member churches' work. It can submit proposals to the Council and/or the Synod and make suggestions for them to consider. It is actively involved in legislation and in the election of the Council. The Church Conference is always presided over by the chairperson of the Council.
