The Leuenberg Agreement was the beginning of the church fellowship between the Lutheran, Reformed and Uniate churches, as well as the pre-Reformation churches of the Waldensians and the Czech Brethren. It was adopted in 1973 on the Leuenberg near Basle and presented to the participating churches.
In the Meissen Declaration, the EKD and the Church of England agreed to recognize each other as churches and committed to strive together for full, visible unity.
The Agreement between the EKD and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) establishes a relationship of pulpit and altar fellowship, which includes the mutual recognition of ordination.
